Experimentações e aprendizagem em uma internação psiquiátrica de um hospital geral

A atenção em saúde mental é oferecida no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) por ações municipalizadas (organizadas por nível de complexidade) e por um financiamento tripartite. A Rede de Cuidados em Saúde Mental, Crack, Álcool e outras Drogas ,a partir da Política Nacional de Saúde Mental, prevê os Centros de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPs), Serviços Residenciais Terapêuticos, Unidades de Acolhimento, Centros de Convivência e Cultura e os leitos de atenção integral em Hospitais Gerais. O presente estudo caracteriza-se como um trabalho qualitativo exploratório e configurado como um relato de experiência de estágio em uma internação psiquiátrica de um Hospital Geral. O compartilhamento das notas feitas durante o período de estágio, organizadas em forma de diário de campo, serão utilizadas como ferramenta para as inquietações, questionamentos, sentimentos, problematizações que surgiram ao longo da caminhada. O objetivo é refletir e dialogar sobre essa experiência moral, sobre os estigmas e os significados dessa experiência na saúde mental.Mental health care is offered in the Unified Health System (SUS) by municipal actions (organized by level of complexity) and by tripartite funding. Extraction of protein profiles from primary neurons using active contour models and wavelets

AbstractThe function of complex networks in the nervous system relies on the proper formation of neuronal contacts and their remodeling. To decipher the molecular mechanisms underlying these processes, it is essential to establish unbiased automated tools allowing the correlation of neurite morphology and the subcellular distribution of molecules by quantitative means.We developed NeuronAnalyzer2D, a plugin for ImageJ, which allows the extraction of neuronal cell morphologies from two dimensional high resolution images, and in particular their correlation with protein profiles determined by indirect immunostaining of primary neurons. The prominent feature of our approach is the ability to extract subcellular distributions of distinct biomolecules along neurites. To extract the complete areas of neurons, required for this analysis, we employ active contours with a new distance based energy. For locating the structural parts of neurons and various morphological parameters we adopt a wavelet based approach. The presented approach is able to extract distinctive profiles of several proteins and reports detailed morphology measurements on neurites.We compare the detected neurons from NeuronAnalyzer2D with those obtained by NeuriteTracer and Vaa3D-Neuron, two popular tools for automatic neurite tracing. The distinctive profiles extracted for several proteins, for example, of the mRNA binding protein ZBP1, and a comparative evaluation of the neuron segmentation results proves the high quality of the quantitative data and proves its practical utility for biomedical analyses

Representações de masculinidades nas campanhas de perfume Calvin Klein

Este artigo realiza uma análise acerca das representações das masculinidades por meio do corpo como suporte e como um mecanismo codificador de padrões históricos, sociais e culturais e da moda como uma manifestação da cultura e como articuladora das relações simbólicas de representação de masculinidades. A partir de uma propaganda do perfume Obsession dos anos 1980, da marca Calvin Klein, e da metodologia de análise de imagens, proposta por Martine Joly, que diz que o discurso visual expresso em uma imagem é constituído da relação da mensagem plástica, icônica e linguística, realizamos algumas reflexões a respeito de como os corpos são representados em uma campanha publicitária. Concluímos que a campanha utiliza os ideais hegemônicos estabelecendo uma relação discursiva com o sujeito homem, valendo-se do seu desejo de incorporar determinados valores estéticos com a finalidade de atingir um processo de plenitude socialmente imposta para a masculinidade heteronormativa centrada em aspectos de força e virilidade fundamentadas pelos aspectos culturais dos anos 1980

Based on an advertisement for the Obsession perfume of the 1980s, by the Calvin Klein brand, and the image analysis methodology proposed by Martine Joly, who says that the visual discourse expressed in an image is made up of the relation of the plastic, iconic and linguistic, we made some reflections about how the bodies are represented in an advertising campaign. We conclude that the campaign uses hegemonic ideals establishing a discursive relationship with the male subject, using his desire to incorporate certain aesthetic values in order to achieve a process of socially imposed plenitude for heteronormative masculinity centered on aspects of strength and virility based on the cultural aspects of the 1980s

Homossexualidade masculina e suas marcas históricas

O estudo tem por objetivo apresentar um conciso panorama sobre a homossexualidade em diferentes temporalidades históricas. Intenta-se trazer à tona elementos socioculturais relevantes sobre a percepção, aceitação ou negação da homossexualidade. A temática de caráter interdisciplinar vem sendo bastante abordada pelos meios de comunicação, embora muitas vezes carecendo de maior aprofundamento histórico. A partir de levantamento bibliográfico, no qual utilizamos obras de historiadores, filósofos, sociólogos, médicos, advogados e antropólogos, buscamos abordar o tema como uma construção social e cultural, portanto histórica, que se modifica conforme cenários e temporalidades. Desta forma, o trabalho consiste em um exercício de repensar a homossexualidade a partir de significações constituídas historicamente, as quais envolveram relações de poder, bem como práticas de inclusão e exclusão social em meio à complexidade histórica

Individual Effector/Regulator T Cell Ratios Impact Bone Regeneration

There is increasing evidence that T lymphocytes play a key role in controlling endogenous regeneration. Regeneration appears to be impaired in case of local accumulation of CD8+ effector T cells (TEFF), impairing endogenous regeneration by increasing a primary "useful" inflammation toward a damaging level. Thus, rescuing regeneration by regulating the heightened pro-inflammatory reaction employing regulatory CD4+ T (TReg) cells could represent an immunomodulatory option to enhance healing. Hypothesis was that CD4+ TReg might counteract undesired effects of CD8+ TEFF. Using adoptive TReg transfer, bone healing was consistently improved in mice possessing an inexperienced immune system with low amounts of CD8+ TEFF. In contrast, mice with an experienced immune system (high amounts of CD8+ TEFF) showed heterogeneous bone repair with regeneration being dependent upon the individual TEFF/TReg ratio. Thus, the healing outcome can only be improved by an adoptive TReg therapy, if an unfavorable TEFF/TReg ratio can be reshaped; if the individual CD8+ TEFF percentage, which is dependent on the individual immune experience can be changed toward a favorable ratio by the TReg transfer. Remarkably, also in patients with impaired fracture healing the TEFF/TReg ratio was higher compared to uneventful healers, validating our finding in the mouse osteotomy model. Our data demonstrate for the first time the key-role of a balanced TEFF/TReg response following injury needed to reach successful regeneration using bone as a model system. Considering this strategy, novel opportunities for immunotherapy in patients, which are at risk for impaired healing by targeting TEFF cells and supporting TReg cells to enhance healing are possible

Onset and progression of diabetes in kidney transplant patients receiving everolimus or cyclosporine therapy: an analysis of two randomized, multicenter trials

Background: Conversion from calcineurin inhibitor (CNI) therapy to a mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor following kidney transplantation may help to preserve graft function. Data are sparse, however, concerning the impact of conversion on posttransplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) or the progression of pre-existing diabetes. Methods: PTDM and other diabetes-related parameters were assessed post hoc in two large open-label multicenter trials. Kidney transplant recipients were randomized (i) at month 4.5 to switch to everolimus or remain on a standard cyclosporine (CsA)-based regimen (ZEUS, n = 300), or (ii) at month 3 to switch to everolimus, remain on standard CNI therapy or convert to everolimus with reduced-exposure CsA (HERAKLES, n = 497). Results: There were no significant differences in the incidence of PTDM between treatment groups (log rank p = 0.97 [ZEUS], p = 0.90 [HERAKLES]). The mean change in random blood glucose from randomization to month 12 was also similar between treatment groups in both trials for patients with or without PTDM, and with or without pre-existing diabetes. The change in eGFR from randomization to month 12 showed a benefit for everolimus versus comparator groups in all subpopulations, but only reached significance in larger subgroups (no PTDM or no pre-existing diabetes). Conclusions: Within the restrictions of this post hoc analysis, including non-standardized diagnostic criteria and limited glycemia laboratory parameters, these data do not indicate any difference in the incidence or severity of PTDM with early conversion from a CsA-based regimen to everolimus, or in the progression of pre-existing diabetes.
